Future of offices renewed

Digital platform for service-oriented and efficient building management

The future of office space: more flexible and social

In recent years, the vision and use of office space has changed dramatically. With the rise of location-independent working, millions of square meters of office space are available for new uses. These spaces can be made more attractive, social and serviceable for (potential) users in the area.

Re:Invent’s mission is to redefine the office landscape into a platform that is high quality, user-centric, bookable and flexible within a building. The ultimate goal is to better serve building users and provide owners with more stable and higher returns.

Digital platform for building management

Re:Invent is a fast-growing digital service platform founded in 2020 by the former management of Spaces. The platform focuses on integrated and fully service-oriented building management. It enables property owners to offer users of their buildings all the services and flexibility they need, with a sustainable, high return on investment. It does this by transforming the traditional tenant-owner relationship into a hybrid model of service provider and hospitality expert, supported by a Smart Digital Asset Management Platform.

Low-Code as a basis for asset management

Re:Invent offers an integrated digital service platform that links all services and building management in one system for both landlords and tenants. The platform manages various contracts, from rentals to flexible contracts and facility services. It also offers hospitality services and partner management, such as monitoring climate systems. Webflight developed a Mendix-based platform for Re:Invent that digitizes operational property management for improved performance, flexibility, social interaction and sustainability. All services that constitute transactions within a building run through the platform.

Multi apps platform

Built with a microservices architecture, the Re:Invent platform consists of five separate apps: products, customers, reservations, billing and customer portal. Single Sign-On allows users to easily navigate between applications after logging in once. This modular approach allows services to be scaled and updated independently, enhancing the scalability and maintainability of the platform.

Application requirements

Scalable multi-tenant platform for managing multiple buildings and real estate portfolios.
This platform provides the ability to:

  • Offices to (re)lease
  • Meeting rooms bookable with add-ons such as catering and audio-visual support
  • Flexible workplaces to (re)lease
  • Billing for all products on one combined invoice
  • Integration with parking system
  • Integration with cash register system for catering
  • Customer environment for booking services
  • Customer environment for insight into invoices
  • Customer environment for submitting troubleshooting requests

Result

Three months after platform development began, the first building was onboarded into the app. Currently, three buildings are live. Also on the roadmap for next year is the launch of a Mendix Native app, which will allow customers to book spaces and view invoices via their cell phones. Further development of the platform with a focus on mobile usage is essential here.
