The Quality Control team is very pleased with the new solution. Quality Control Engineers can enter data from different production locations simultaneously, making the entry process much more efficient. A dashboard provides Quality Control Managers with valuable information about the quality of the various product batches. They can easily see quality trends and make adjustments to batches as needed.

The application also gives quality managers more control over the production process. For example, changing parameters has now become a dynamic process. If batches do not meet one customer’s parameters, they sometimes meet other customers’ criteria, allowing them to offer those products to other customers resulting in less food loss.

Charting a production score
Avola Decision, the decision management software for operational decision making developed by Ciphix, was also integrated into the application. The business rules used to make product quality decisions were translated into decision models in Avola Decision. Based on measurements in the portal, such as temperature and length of fries, the software automatically calculates a quality score. If the score falls below a critical number, the production process must be adjusted.

It became increasingly difficult for Agristo staff to monitor and manage the various parameters for the growing number of customers. Avola Decision has significantly reduced the complexity of the quality control process and increased transparency, as all quality decisions are now made based on objective business rules in Avola Decision.

Significant gains in speed and flexibility
Quality Control managers can now update master data up to 50 times faster. If a product definition needs to be added or changed, it only takes a few minutes, whereas previously it took half a day to a day. This is a huge difference.
