Not only because it was their first digital project, but also because they had no experience with agile working. And frankly, they doubted whether a project manager was needed at all.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For us, it was precisely an opportunity to show that digitization is more than technology. It&#8217;s about people, cooperation and trust. So we decided to appoint a project manager (at no extra cost) to make their first step an instant strong one.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this blog, you&#8217;ll read how we handled that with Jordy: how we dealt with the inevitable challenges, why open communication proved decisive, and how a bumpy start eventually led to a solid collaboration.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than appointments and schedules<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We took an approach that is about trust, not spreadsheets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead of focusing on &#8216;hard&#8217; agreements or technical details, we gave extra attention to the personal and emotional side of working together. Because although we are used to ups &amp; downs in a project, for a client those &#8216;downs&#8217; can have a lot of impact. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Especially in later stages, when the pressure increases. Then the successes become greater but also the disappointments more palpable. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The power of leadership is in listening<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the first serious obstacle, it came down to it:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project leader communicated openly, actively involved the customer and kept the sprint goals sharp with the team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During retrospectives, the focus was not only on technical areas for improvement, but also on cooperation, expectations and pace. This created a rhythm that gave confidence. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project leader acted as both guide and sounding board, providing an overview and direction even when things did not go as planned.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The team as the foundation<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This collaboration worked because the team delivered more than an application.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They delivered commitment, flexibility, quality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And with it: trust.
